AI Voice Agents for Hotels

Six compared on what they finish on the call

A hotel lobby in warm wood and stacked stone, with a double-height fireplace and lit candles on the low tables.

The best AI voice agent for a hotel is the one that can finish the call. Conduit, PolyAI, Canary AI Voice, Akia AI Voice and Timo all answer the phone around the clock. They differ on what happens next. Some can change the reservation, take the payment and hand the rest to a human with the context attached. Others take a message.

How did we rank these AI voice agents?

The ranking uses one criterion, applied the same way to all six. It asks how much of a phone call the agent can complete without a person, and whether the same agent also handles the guest's messages. Completing a call means reading the reservation, making the change the guest asked for, taking payment where money is involved, and routing to a named human with the conversation attached. Every capability below comes from the vendor's own current page, and every price is either published by the vendor or marked "not published". Four of the six publish nothing about price, so a hotel comparing them cannot budget without booking a sales call.

Which AI voice agents should a hotel shortlist in 2026?

Six AI voice agents clear the bar of answering a live guest call, and the six sit in a wide range. The list runs from agents that complete transactions in the property management system to a platform that reduces call volume rather than answering the phone at all.

1. Conduit

Conduit runs voice and messaging on one agent, so a guest who calls at 2am and texts at 9am is one conversation with one memory. The agent reads and writes back to the connected PMS, which is what lets it complete an early check-in rather than log a request: it checks the room, charges the fee, confirms with the guest and records it. Cash Flow Street, a 35-property manager, runs 96% automation on Conduit, up from 80% at launch. Phone features include number porting, 24/7 or scheduled routing, static and dynamic escalation, and warm transfer. Pricing is published per unit per month and starts at $18 for Messaging, rising to $48 for Full Suite, with a flat $899 per month Startup plan for properties up to 25 units.

2. PolyAI

PolyAI publishes the most detailed call handling of the six. Its hotel page says the agent will "Take room reservations", "Handle complex reservations", "Resolve billing inquiries", "Seamlessly process payments over the phone" and "Route calls to anyone in your staff directory", and it commits to answering "100% of calls". It integrates with property management systems, though the page names none of them in text. PolyAI does not publish pricing, and its positioning aims at properties with enough call volume to justify an enterprise conversation. If the phone is your main operational bottleneck and guest messaging is already handled elsewhere, this is the one to demo.

3. Canary AI Voice

Canary AI Voice comes from a vendor whose other products already sit at the front desk. Its AI Voice page says it will "Effortlessly manage new bookings and modifications", "offer personalized upsells and cross-sell opportunities" and handle "routing the call to your teams", and that it will "Sync with your existing PMS, CRS, CRM, booking engine and payment systems". No individual systems are named, and no price is published. Canary is the natural shortlist entry for a hotel already running its check-in or payments products, because the voice agent inherits that setup.

4. Akia AI Voice

Akia added voice to a messaging product rather than the other way round, and its guest messaging page now says plainly that "Akia answers calls, responds to text messages, replies to emails, and checks OTA messages in the same inbox your team works in". Akia names 16 property management systems on that same page, including Oracle Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, Guesty, Hostaway, Apaleo, StayNTouch and Maestro, which is the longest named integration list here. Pricing is not published. Anyone still working from a comparison that says Akia has no voice product is reading a stale page, including one of ours that we are correcting.

5. Timo

Timo and Conduit are the two products here that publish a price, and Timo is the cheaper entry point at "from 99 EUR per month, as a light monthly subscription with no long-term lock-in". It describes itself as "An AI receptionist that answers guests on WhatsApp, phone and email, guides check-in, routes what it should not decide, and offers the upgrade", with "one shared memory" across those channels. For a single independent property testing whether an AI receptionist is worth the operational change, the published price and the absence of a lock-in are the reason to start here.

6. HiJiffy

HiJiffy is the contrast case on this list. Its own site does not describe an inbound-call product. Its homepage covers web chat, WhatsApp, social channels and OTA messaging, and the only call reference is "Reduction of the incoming calls" as an outcome metric. HiJiffy claims its AI "handles up to 90% of guest conversations automatically". That is a real number for messaging. If the brief is to stop the phone ringing by answering more guests before they dial, HiJiffy is a fair candidate; if the brief is to answer the calls that still come, it is not.

How do these AI voice agents compare on features?

The comparison table below scores all six AI voice agents the same way, and every cell is either something the vendor publishes or "not published". The gap that matters most is the third column, because an agent that cannot write to the property management system can confirm nothing on the call.

What should a hotel test in a voice agent demo?

A voice agent demo should be five live calls against your own property data, because the difference between these products shows up in the requests that need an action rather than an answer. Use: an availability question for this weekend; a change from one king to two queens; a noon check-in request; a late checkout that has to be charged to the card on file; and a room that is too hot at 11pm. An agent that answers the first and third and transfers the rest is an answering service with a good voice. The transfer itself is worth watching too, since a warm transfer that carries the conversation saves the guest repeating themselves.

What does an AI voice agent cost for a hotel?

AI voice agent pricing is published by two of the six, so most hotel budgets start with a sales call. Conduit publishes per unit per month, starting at $18 for Messaging and reaching $48 for Full Suite, with a $899 per month Startup plan for properties up to 25 units. Timo publishes from EUR 99 per month for a single property. PolyAI, Canary and Akia all quote, which usually tracks call volume, property count and which modules are turned on. When you request those quotes, ask for the cost of the integration work as a separate line, because connecting the PMS is where the implementation time goes.

Where do AI voice agents still hand off to staff?

Every AI voice agent here hands off to staff, and the honest question is what the guest experiences when it happens. Conduit uses static and dynamic escalation with warm transfer, so the human who picks up has the reservation and the conversation. PolyAI routes to anyone in the staff directory. Canary routes to teams. Ours is not a finished story either: a voice agent will still hand over anything involving a dispute, an exception to a rate, or a guest who asks for a manager, and the goal we design for is a handover that is fast and carries the context with it.

FAQ

The questions below come up in most voice-agent comparisons, and each answer draws on the vendor pages cited above or on Conduit's published pricing. Where a vendor does not publish something, the answer says so rather than estimating it, because an unpublished integration list or rate card is itself useful information when you are deciding who to call first.

What is the best AI voice agent for handling hotel phone calls 24/7?

Conduit, PolyAI, Canary AI Voice, Akia AI Voice and Timo all answer calls around the clock. Rank them by how much of a call each can finish without a person: whether it can read and update the reservation, take a payment, and transfer to a named human with the conversation attached.

Can an AI voice agent change a reservation during the call?

Yes, when it writes back to the property management system. Conduit writes back to connected PMSes, Canary says it syncs with the PMS, CRS, CRM, booking engine and payment systems, and PolyAI publishes handling for complex reservations and payments over the phone. Ask each vendor to demonstrate the change on your own PMS.

Which hotel voice AI products publish their pricing?

Conduit and Timo. Conduit publishes per unit per month, from $18 for Messaging to $48 for Full Suite, plus a $899 per month Startup plan for properties up to 25 units. Timo publishes from EUR 99 per month. PolyAI, Canary and Akia quote on request.

Does HiJiffy answer hotel phone calls?

HiJiffy's own site does not describe an inbound-call product. It covers web chat, WhatsApp, social channels and OTA messaging, and presents "Reduction of the incoming calls" as an outcome rather than a phone feature. Shortlist it for messaging coverage, not for answering the phone.

Does Akia have an AI voice agent?

Yes. Akia's site states that "Akia answers calls, responds to text messages, replies to emails, and checks OTA messages in the same inbox your team works in". Older comparisons describing Akia's phone product as a staff dialer or IVR are out of date, including one of ours.

How much of a hotel's call volume can an AI agent handle?

Conduit publishes an automation range of 70% to 90% across its customer base, measured across all guest conversations rather than calls alone. Cash Flow Street runs 96% automation on Conduit across 35 properties, up from 80% at launch. Ask any vendor whether their figure counts resolved requests or only messages sent.

What should a small hotel do first?

Start with the published prices, since they let you size the decision before a sales call. Run the five-call test above on two products, one that writes back to your PMS and one that does not, and compare what each one completed. For a portfolio rollout rather than one property, how to deploy AI messaging across a hotel portfolio covers the sequencing.
