Portals

The full stay, in one link

A boutique hotel upsold me before I ever set foot in the building.

Twenty-four hours before check-in, instead of the usual "your check-in instructions are attached" email, they texted me a link. I opened it on my phone and everything was there: directions, my room, the wifi. While I was poking around, an early check-in and a massage showed up on the front page, and I said yes to both before I left for the airport.

That hotel made more money on my stay, and I was happier for it. It didn't feel like a pitch. It felt like the hotel already knew what I'd want.

All of that value was sitting in a conversation that almost never gets captured. There is an enormous amount of latent guest demand that goes unattended, because until now it hasn't been possible to capture and fulfill it at scale.

That is why we built Portals.

What is Portals?

Portals is a single link for a guest's entire stay. One place for check-in, upsells, payments, and a concierge agent that answers questions using your property's own knowledge base.

You send one link. The guest gets directions, their room details, wifi, a room key they tap on their phone, verified check-in, and an agent that can answer anything and book the extras. No app to download, no account to create.

Conduit Portals: verified check-in, an AI concierge, and personalized upsells in one link

How a Portal works

A Portal follows the guest from booking to checkout.

Before arrival, the guest:

  • Books, then opens the Portal link
  • Verifies their identity with a selfie matched against their ID
  • Signs the check-in waiver
  • Adds travel insurance if they want it

Then they land in the Portal itself, where a concierge agent surfaces relevant, personalized offers and answers whatever they ask.

Verified, self-serve check-in

ID verification, the check-in waiver, travel insurance, and a mobile key all live in the Portal. The repetitive front-desk steps move off your team and onto a flow the guest completes on their own phone, before they arrive.

A concierge agent for the whole stay

The concierge is powered by your property knowledge base, so it answers real questions: wifi and parking, the late-checkout policy, where to eat nearby. It also takes action. A guest can ask it to book a dinner reservation or a massage, and it books it inside the conversation instead of handing off to a person.

Upsells that read as service

Because the agent knows the reservation and the guest, the offers are relevant rather than generic:

  • Early check-ins and late checkouts
  • Gap nights and room upgrades
  • Custom offers like baby cribs, private chefs, and cabanas

The guest sees them at the moment they are deciding how to spend their stay, not buried in an email they will never open. In a live Portal that might be a private chef dinner, a personal massage, a bedroom upgrade, or a guided tide-pool walk, each one curated for that guest.

Payments built in

Guests pay for upgrades and add-ons in the Portal. No separate invoice, no card typed in at the front desk. The demand and the transaction happen in the same place, in the same conversation.

Why Portals matters for operators

Every stay generates demand that never gets asked for. A guest who would have paid for an early check-in, a later checkout, an extra night, or a good dinner, but nobody offered, and the window closed.

Portals captures that demand directly in conversation, at the moment the guest is most receptive, and fulfills it without adding work for your team. What you get:

  • More revenue per reservation, from upsells guests actually want
  • A check-in flow that runs itself: ID verification, waiver, insurance, and keys
  • A concierge available to every guest, around the clock, grounded in your property's real information
  • One link to send, and no app for the guest to install

Frequently asked questions

What is a guest portal?

A guest portal is a single web link that holds everything a guest needs for a stay: check-in, directions, wifi, a mobile key, payments, and a way to ask questions or book extras. Conduit Portals add a concierge agent that answers from your property's knowledge base and surfaces personalized upsells.

Does a guest need to download an app?

No. A Portal opens in the browser from one link. There is no app to install and no account to create.

What can guests book inside a Portal?

Early check-in and late checkout, extra nights between bookings, room upgrades, and custom offers like private chefs, cabanas, baby cribs, dining, and local experiences. What is offered is set by you and personalized to the reservation.

How does check-in work?

The guest verifies their identity with a selfie matched to their ID, signs your check-in waiver, and can add travel insurance. Where supported, they get a mobile key they tap on their phone.

Does the concierge agent make things up?

The agent answers from your property's knowledge base and takes real actions, like booking a service, so its responses are grounded in your actual information and inventory rather than guesses.

Is Portals available now?

Yes. Portals is live in Conduit today.
